Edward Jones - Bowers Agent

My background in the financial industry goes back to preschool. As a child being raised by a single mom, her job at a local bank put food on the table. I can remember going in on the weekend and helping her feed punch cards into the computer system that took up an entire floor of the building. So much has changed! But she treated her customers like family. She looked out for them. She was always trying to find ways to help them accomplish their goals. But I never thought I would have a career in the industry. I was going to be a rock star, of course!

I earned my first paycheck at age 11, started my first "business" at age 17 and eventually earned a BBA in accounting from East Tennessee State University in 1994. In fact, I was on a project team who created the College of Business' original webpage. So much has changed! I worked in public accounting initially, but in 1997, I moved to industry. I honed my skills in manufacturing at Dana Corporation and the housing industry at Clayton Homes. In 1999, I entered the world of healthcare finance. It would lead me on a 13-year mission to accomplish my career goal of becoming a Chief Financial Officer.

I did so in three states with five health systems, stepping in as Interim Chief Executive Officer several times as well. We settled in the greater Chattanooga area in 2008, where I also ran a small business. In 2016, I found the job I'd been looking for all along. I only wish I'd found Edward Jones sooner! Today, I get to do the very thing my mom did.

My Branch Administrator, Stephanie and I, help people reach their financial goals and dreams. I wish truly my mom were here to see it. I have an awesome wife (Monica) and two busy kids (Taylor and Scotty) and a puppy (Luna). We stay busy boating, wake surfing, competing in skeet, trap and sporting clays, spartan races, hunting, and hitting the beach as often as possible. We attend Valleybrook Church and volunteer for numerous school and community events.
